Introducing 'Ask the Pastor'

Is there something in God’s Word you’ve struggled to understand? Have you ever wondered why we do certain things, or had questions about the direction of our young adults ministry? In April and May, we’re having a series where you can submit questions for Pastor Andy. Each week, we’ll work through as many of them as we can. Questions can be submitted anonymously (unless you choose to include your name), and we’ll do our best to record the messages so everyone can hear them as well!

To submit questions, click here or on the image above.

When you click on the recordings, they’ll lead you to a Google drive file to listen to them.

Week 1

In week 1, we tackled two very important questions—

  • What does the Bible say about alcohol? Especially in light of the contrast between drunkenness and just one drink.
  • Why is Kirk Cameron’s view on Hell incorrect?

Week 2

In week 2, we tackled these questions—

In regards to dating…

  • How did you know Audra was the one? How did she know you were the one?
  • How do I handle mental health as a believer and a single?
  • A lot of us obviously want to get married, and we understand the basics of a relationship and purity, but could you provide discipleship on this topic?
  • How do you know when it’s the right time to start dating?

Then two other questions:

  • Are aliens demons?
  • How do I know if a thought is from God, the enemy, or just me?

Week 3

In Week 3, we tackled two important and substantial questions:

  • Are those in the Orthodox Church as off in their theology or beliefs as the Catholic Church?
  • Could a Christian join a sorority, attend the induction ceremony, and participate in its pledging process without compromising their faith?

Week 4

Week 4 brought two questions, one vitally important for your soul and another that tackles an intriguing working of God amongst Muslim converts to Christianity.

  • How do I greive and still have faith?
  • Does God reveal Himself differently across cultures—for example, by using dreams more often in places like the Middle East where dreams are taken seriously—and if so, does He still use dreams today to draw people to Christ (as in accounts where someone began seeking Jesus after a dream)?
